For April 2026, the manufacturer reported a total volume of 59,701 units, representing a substantial 31% improvement over the 45,532 units delivered during the same period the previous year.

Robust local appetite and an exceptional 72% yearly jump in electric vehicle volumes served as the primary catalysts for this month’s impressive performance.

Tata Motors continues to hold the #2 position in the Indian passenger vehicle market, capturing a 13.4% market share. The SUV portfolio remains the primary volume driver, with the Tata Punch and Tata Nexon collectively accounting for more than 63% of the month’s total sales.

  • Tata Punch: Led the pack with 19,107 units, achieving a massive 53% growth.
  • Tata Nexon: Secured 18,126 units, reflecting a steady 17% increase.
  • Tata Sierra: Contributed a healthy 7,316 units to the premium mix.
  • Tata Harrier: Saw an exponential growth of 151% with 2,545 units sold.
  • Tata Tiago: Maintained momentum with 5,488 units.

Expansion in Commercial Vehicles

The momentum extended to the Commercial Vehicle (CV) sector as well. Tata Motors witnessed a 28% year-on-year growth in CV sales, supported by high demand in the cargo and pickup segments, indicating a positive outlook for the logistics industry.
